A successful career may conceal the most tragic of tales. Lolo Jones, who took home the USA and the World championships in hurdle events in 2013, only reached this position by putting in a lot of hard work and a lot of patience. Jones, who was born into a family of no mothers that included five kids living in poverty and hardship as a youngster, experienced an incredibly difficult childhood. Her mother was constantly shifting and even was a resident in the basement. Jones was a nomadic and mobile life from the moment she started the high school system, was required to transfer to a brand new school each year. In Theodore Roosevelt High School Jones lived apart from her mother in order to pursue her passion for the track and field events. Jones lived in four different residences during her high school period to be able to complete her studies in one place.
